Post subject:  2nd Clan War signups begin now

We are ready to start signing up clans for a trial run of the 2nd clan war. We plan on accepting sign-ups until Wednesday, October 13th.

In order to sign up, we need your clan name, and which clan members will participate.

We plan on starting two wars of this format as part of the beta test, in order to allow all existing clans to participate. If there is additional interest, we may add more. Each war of this format is best to have 3-4 clan teams participating, with 4-6 players per team. Larger clans may field 2 teams in seperate wars, depending on who wishes to join in.

Please note that this will be a beta test of this new war format, which is vastly different from the first war, and in our opinion vastly improved.

Some of the major improvements will be:

* Shorter wars - The limited number of countries that need to be attacked and the fort concept will speed up a war drastically.

* Flexibility - With the smaller size of each individual war and the amount of development going into making updates easily, multiple wars of this can be going at any given time. Each can have its own variation of rules and requirements to meet everyone's needs.

* Improved Strategy - The Overall map provides for a great layer of additional strategy. This can almost be a simple strategy game in itself.

* Improved Teamwork - Fights for a country will invariably use several players on both sides working together for their country.

* Less Turn Lag - A hard turn limit will ensure that turns will be received on a regular basis. This format makes it less deadly if for some reason a clan member goes inactive.

* Multiple Opponents on varying maps - The old war ended up having a lot of repeat matches between the same people on the same maps. The more dynamic map of this format will allow for a variety of opponents on different maps.

* All players will be of use - Every player, regardless of skill, will be encouraged to particpate. Better players will cost more to field, encouraging clans to have a mix of skilled and learning players.

to sign up your clan please pm either myself, maelstrom or artanis.

Also when signing up we'd like your views on which maps are which size, small, medium, large. Or in a case where there's no large countries, we'd like u to offer ur opinions on how to divide them up into just small and medium. We'd rather not exclude any maps as last war new paradise was only use for hoemworlds and as such was very rarely played.

ok quick reminder i need your emails regarding which players you will be entering by wednesday 6pm gmt (1pm est) (if alot of players then please specify 2 teams.) During our own tests we found 4-6 players to be a good number for a team, but there are no restrictions. We have a new clan war email but until mael reminds me what it is please send your player lists (with map sizes, see above) to nealwalker@btinternet.com or neworldorder@graffiti.net

I have a suggestion for the Clan War website, a change of colors. The black background with the other colors used for text are hard on the eyes. Maybe colors that are more consistent with either the MA or MAN site could be used.

Edit: How about something like this.

the any particular colour combination u don't like or is it just black ackgrounds in general, we know some colours are ahrd to read adn will be fixing that soon.

Also there will be a slight delay in the orion war. Hopefully will be sorted by monday.

In general, I find that black as a background is the biggest problem. Obviously there are some color combos being used that are a problem, like Purple is a little to dark on the black. The bold yellow of the overview creates a glow effect which is hard to read.

Also Arial is a better style font to use on a computer screen then Times New Roman which is better for printed text.

All Orion War deployments are in, and I've updated the site to show that. I now need the following things from the four clans in that war:

ALL: First turn orders.

SWORD: A new tiny logo, if you have one.

SWORD: Your map votes.

noticed the 1st bug, in the rules ti should say for inital deployments when u ahve cash you ahve to buy 1 army/garrison per player before buying a 2nd one (to stop ppl just buying tons of cheap armies for their top player/s.) This beta is a good idea to spot these mistakes :) Anyway it;s our fault so nothing will be changed.

that is a good addition Enforcer. It also stops from building tons of armies with a low cost player
