I purchased MA a while ago
I noticed that there is something called MAN by visiting this web site (yesterday I feel like to play MA again :D )
MA owner dont have to buy anything to play MAN (so is it like battle net for starcraft?)
or if my friend want to buy MA, now the only option is to buy MAN or MA is still available? (he prefers solo game

MA is like you said more single player orientated, but you can play the original maps online.

MAN is more multiplayer orientarted with few single player missions. However the multiplayer interface is better with chat channels etc and you also get 1 new map a month (in theory)

As for wether MA is still available in shops I don't know. Phantome renaissance might be coming out soon (see www.phantomrenaissance.com) altho i ahve no idea whether that'll have alot of single player in it.

MA:PR is an addon for MA. It focuses on single player mode.

one more clarifying question. Then MA player can not play against gamers who purchased MAN?
or Does MA player play against gamers who purchased MAN?

I mean MA is basically a dead game as far as (active) multiplay is concerned due to the new MAN?

MA can and does play against MAN. The only exceptions are Crateus and Twin Islands, which are MAN-only.

As far as I know, MA is alive and well, with plenty of people playing it. The only real differences (in multiplayer) are a chat room, an extra way to challenge people, and the maps Crateus and Twin Islands.

Phantom Renaissance is a stand alone expansion, as it says on the http://www.phantomrenaissance.com/ and will feature
*6 new planets for World Wars including massive-sized deathmatch maps
*2 Mega Campaigns
*20 new single-player scenarios with new mission types and twists
*All-new "Assault" game mode
*All-new "RTS-style" online play mode
*New A.I. - with various computer opponent "profiles"
*10 new units, unique for each side, leading to different strategies
*Enhanced 3D engine: remade unit, terrain and effect visualization technology
*Additional battle music
*Massive Assault Network compatibility
*2 new viewing modes: CNN-style "fancy camera" and historic-atlas-style 2D strategic map mode
*LAN play
*Many single-player and multiplayer gameplay enhancements

copy/pasted from MA,PR site linked above. rather excited about it myself, maybe now that it'll have LAN play I can drag my two friends off of halo... heh

my only question is in what time fram could we expect it to come out? I know this is hard to estimate, and any time you say wil not be officail, but are we looking at late 2004, 2005, or early 2006?
