Hello all,
i found this game by accident and it looks promising. I am big fan of turn based strategy games and playing games from Combat Mission serie by email. How compares MAN to this serie please?

MAN is free to download and you can play one of of the more basic maps online for as long as you want, downlaod it and give it a try. (I've not played CM so can't comment on it)

Multiplayer in MAN works a lot like play-by-email, only the server takes care of sending the turns (so you don't have to do any actual e-mailing).

Never played Combat Mission, so I can't comment on any gameplay comparisons, unfortunately.

As far as I know, Combat Mission is the tactical simulator. It operates with real units and tries to simulate all physics.
Massive Assault is more like chess -- abstract non-real units, no physics at all, strict and simple rules, no random factor in fight (except your initial countries deployment). But it has deep tactic and strategy (like chess 8) ).
I advise you to try it.

CM is more complex than MA , you will find that MA has less rules and easier to get into but it is very addictive ...

I has just received my CM copy and still trying to get into the game :(

Cheers

Having played both Norat has a great description. Here is my attempt:

MAN comes down to making 3 basic decisions: when and what secret allies (SAs) to reveal, what troops to purchase and where you move your troops.

How they are alike: You need to best utilize your troops and avoid losing high cost units without making them serve their purpose (one shot tank kills come to mind), Many tactical decisions such as setting up screens and maximizing firepower, many strategic decisions such as setting offensive objectives, both are great fun

How they differ: There is no fog of war in MAN, No morale, Troops are the same on both sides(just look different), no cool 3d action to see how the turn went in MAN

hope this helps

Yes, except I think the pulses are 60 seconds. The game is from battlefront.com if you want to take a look.
