Say you have units all over the map. Trouble is, they cant attack... they are behind the lines. Rocket launchers are great, and assault bots are usefull.... but they arnt your main asset. I play so many people who just rely on thier tanks 2 moves to drive from one front to the other. I beat them. I use lavs. Spend 4 points on tanks and your not getting the bet out of your money. Look guys, the point of battle is to FORCE your opponents hand. It is to defend or attack at your leisure. To do this you need a few things.... and the greatest asset you have is mobility. Try this out. Instead of spending 4$ on 2 tanks, buy 2 lavs and an apc. Your lavs will die, but your apc will live on. In the middle game, i have more APC's than anyone i have ever played. This has 2 benefits. 1) my force is the ultimate in terms of mobility and possibilities. 2) my opponent gains almost no advantage from killing one of my apc's... i have 4-8 more in reserve. Conversely, my opponent only has 0-5 apc's, and so each one i kill hurts his options more. If you are mathematically minded you will be able to find more reasons to justify what i have said... i do! but im not in the buisness of numbers... so try it. Invest in lavs and APC's, watch your game improve. Summary; tanks are like heavy bots. they have thier use, but they are not what will win you the war. Xcomcommander. |
