Different release dates is often as bad an idea as it is good. It means non-American players don't get caught up in the hype and get to see what other players think of the game, which if the game doesn't do well in its first country, often spells its end.

I can think of films and games I intended to see or buy, which I didn't because they hit the states first and they weren't everything they were promised to me. The pre-order was cancelled, the cinema trip canned, and a little less money went the developers way.

On top of this, it encourages piracy. Many people go along the lines of "well, I intend to get it, so why not just download it now? Stupid developers."

I get fustrated by this, as well as it giving North American players a headstart. Retarded really, and the steep learning curve this creates for new players can often put people off the multiplayer component all together.

One point: Its not the developers decision... its the publishers.

In my experience that doesn't tend to stop people blaming the developers... and the developers in this case were the ones to pick the publishers.

BTW, will Domination be sold in the MA or MAN fashion?

Domination is boxed, so will be sold like MA.

Its a Publisher's market for sure... there are many more Developer companies out there trying to create games than there are Publishers funding and distributing games. Developers don't really have much say in how things are done unfortunately, unless they reach the epic proportions of say Blizzard or Valve, or if they get bought out directly by a publisher (of course they don't get much more say even then).

I believe the demo is coming

I had an 1h pleasure with it yesterday (Please don't ask me where did I get it).

Most important for you to think right now:

1) Round Zero has *One* ally disclosing
2) Bunkers are stationary LAVs with range of 2
3) FNU Helicopters have HP3/MV4/FR2/RNG2/COST3
4) There is no more most annoying (imo) AI hole with invading of country with one unit. It does not invade such way now.

Demo should be released and published by DreamCatcher. I hope it will be soon. Everything is ready - single-player and multiplayer demos, english goldmaster. It's not developer's right to release demos now, unfortunatelly.

After a cupple of wars on medium difficulty I have swtched to impossible. Currently I have 3 played worldwars with impossible-AI on Micronesia. First and last of them finished with defeat. (However it was demo-AI).

First time i was needed to disclose in defense formation and this led finally to exhaustion of my resources faster than for AI. And last time I was defeated in first turn - PL just moved into my only ally.

Micronesia has 8 countries overall. One goes for player and TWO for AI on impossible difficulty. I had even a case when AI did not want to disclose his second ally for a short time (that game was abondoned however).

He uses land and sea transports but I think it is without great success. But his army composition is better than in MA.

You should act quickly and succesfully to win because of this disparity. Additionally, countries on Micronesia in demo have 5 turns of income, NOT 10. This can be adjusted in full game as I know.

It's another game I think. It was impossible to lose in MA.

Another two games played. I won both.

First game I started in direct contact with one PL ally. However PL decides to withdraw from front line by his tanks :) and I invade him with my ones. Tough battle but his second ally is very far to help. Clearly his mistake. After a battle I still has two damaged mortars and some LAVs (with no any resources in my home). From that point we have parity in power, so it was easy.

Second game was a run. We started out of contact. However I can not invade my initial neutral target, and enemy do not want to invade the same country too. At the same time he invades isolated neutral by his second Ally. Gathering all resources I invade another neutral bordering with his second ally and invaded neutral. He can strike quickly my undefended and exhausted home with his first armada but does this too slow with fighting much time a neutral between us. My invasion finishes with capturing both neutral countries and enough time to return back and kick off enemy from my home.

AI fails to defend his own exhausted allies. He still fails to manage rough terrain, distance and time. (With short resources at least). But his decisions are little more confident than in MA. I never see LAVs division crossing his own country from one border to another.

So is the AI alot better than in ma?

It's better. And it have additionally twice more allies in wordwar than a player.

However I'm still playing demo for now. But I'm going to look for full game.
