Just an idea, maybe devs will find it useful.

Major changes in my RS:

1. Points are given against bots ONLY until player achieves rank of a corporal.
2. NO, and I said NO rating bonuses for map sizes. Instead a new, separate land counter. Land counter is not set to default after player achieves a new rank unlike rank gauge.
3. Fast promotion system for strong players.
4. No way to raise your rank above certain level just by playing a lot.

Now, about the system.

For an even win you get +3 draw +2 loss 0 point (maybe 2 1 0... not imortant since it`s just an idea)

if you beat up a player of +1 rank you get +5 draw +3
if you beat up a player of +2 ranks you get +7 draw +4
second(third/fourth?) win places you on the middle of the next level.
third win places you on that rank

if you beat up a player of +3 ranks you get +9 draw +5
second win raises you up one level
third places you on that rank

if you beat up a player of +4 ranks you get +9 draw +5
second win raises you on the level just before what you are up against and +2/3 points to the next level.
third places you on taht level.

if you beat up a player of +5 ranks you get +9 draw +5
second gets you 2/3 gauge
third raises you to 1 level below + 2/3 gauge
fourth gets you on that level

Wins must be consequtive.

Winning over ppl lower in rank brings half less points AND cannot promote you over.

Possible rating system
Cst-Prt 15 points
Prt-Cor 21 points(each rank has a separate point pool, so reaching Prt you will have 0 points as cor, not 15)
Cor-Ser 30 points
Ser - Lie 36 points
Lie - Cap 42+6 or 42 if you have 2 consequtive wins over Caps
Cap - Maj 45+6 or 45 if you have 2 consequtive wins over Majs
Maj-Col 60 +6 +6 or 60 if you have 2 consequtive wins over Cols

Any ideas? I hope devs can get at least something from the idea. ;)
Numbers are not important andcan be changed as needed. The main point is the system itself.

I think it's interesting idea, but I suggest add one more limit for promotion - on size of map. For example:
Cst - Ser could win on the small map for promotion until Lie
Lie - Cap should win on the map not less then medium for promotion until Maj
Maj - Col should win on the map not less then large for promotion until Gen
Gen - Mar should win on the map not less then XL for promotion until Mar.

Number of such victory could be 2, 3 or 4 for different promotion and opponent should have equal or higher rank.

Agree, good addition, the only arguable point is XL win... maybe too big, especially for some slow CPU users. Also will take quite a lot of time.

I've said that player should win on XL to became Marshal. I think it could be logical, that such battles could be long.

Well, afaik, the worst things in the current one are

1) playing with bots raises you to an unreasonable level
2) points do not quite accurately tell the strength of a player...

I`m not insisting you use this system, I just tried to show you some ways to avoid those flaws.
