Wargaming.net invites to participate in new tournament, named MAN2 First Cup.

Rules:

1. Participation will be open to subscribed MAN2 players.

The tournament will last for 12 weeks - starting on July 5th (Thursday)

3. The Tournament will contain 3 stages:
    a. All players will be divided in 20 pools (4-5 players in each pool). The toss-up procedure will be similar to the one used in FIFA. The round-robin tourney will take place inside each Pool: each player will play 2 games against other players (as F.N.U. and Phantom League) on Beotorum planet. The winner of each Pool will proceed to the following stage. Additionally, 5 players, who’ll take the second place in their pools, will also proceed to the following stage basing on the best records (number of tournament's victories, sum of turns in lost battles minus sum of turns in won battles).
    b. The players will be divided in 5 pools (5 players in each pool). The round-robin tourney will take place within each Pool: every player will play 2 games against other players (as F.N.U. and Phantom League) on Twin Islands planet. The winner of each Pool will proceed to the following stage. The second-place winner will take part in the Consolation Final.
    c. The Final round-robin tourney will be held within its final Pool (of 5 top players): each player will play 2 games against other players (as F.N.U. and Phantom League) on Anubis planet. The Consolation Final for the 6-10 places will have the same structure.
4. All tournament's battles will be created as rating games, with normal allies density, infinity in-game limit, 10 turns of revenue and extended unit's set. Each battle at every stage has a 2-weeks chess time limit.

5. Scoring system:
    a. Won game at any stage costs 3 points.
    b. Lost game costs 0 points.
    c. If a game is finished a draw, both players will get 1 point.

6. If a participant wants to quit the tournament, he will have to email Moderator.

7. Prizes: The players, who’ll take the first 3 places of the tournament, will get a special award on the site of MAN2.
The top 10 players will get additional bonus scores in expirience-based rating:
500 for the 10th place,
1000 for the 9th place,
1500 for the 8th place,
2000 for the 7th place,
2500 for the 6th place,
---------------
3000 for the 5th place,
4000 for the 4th place,
5000 for the 3rd place,
6000 for the 2nd place,
7500 for the 1st place.

8. If two or more players have the same score, winner will be defined based on the following factors (listed in priority order):
    a. Result of battles for equal-score players
    b. Difference: (Sum of turns in lost battles minus sum of turns in won battles in the games between equal-score players)
    c. Difference: (Sum of turns in lost battles minus sum of turns in won battles in the all games of this round)

If you have questions contact tournament moderator (Tiger).

Just a quick question - will the pools be seeded

By that I mean - will the top 20 players (based on skill) be devided into the 20 pools (ie one for each pool).

I don't feel like playing someone like Aghepu, Morn, Tiget ..... etc..... or even worse - have all 3 in my first pool. (I am sure they wouldn't we want to be in the pool with each other either - as only 1 will survive (or maybe 2) to play the next round.

To get the final 5 to be to TOP 5, then the top 20 players must be split up for the first round and the top 5 must be split up for the 2nd round. (based on the skill level on July 5th).

I think thats how they do it in the World Cup too to make sure that the top teams have a good chance of meeting inthe finals.

Silly question I suppose, I just had to be sure :)

When will the pools be announced?

Is there a web site I can see the pools on?

So many questions :)

I found the web site (from your initial post) which had the list of player, and I noticed that Trial players are joining.... How can they play on the other maps if they do not have a full version? OR will they get special dispensation to play in the tournament only.

I don;t realy care either way - just thought they should know if they should bother joining or not.

Trial players will get additional message, because of they can't take part in the tournament if they don't purchase subscription until July, 5.

Hello,

As the players have been very active during registrations for the First Massive Assault Network 2 Global Tournament, the rules have been changed a little:

a. All players will be divided in 24 pools (5-6 players in each pool). The toss-up procedure will be similar to the one used in FIFA. The round-robin tourney will take place inside each Pool: each player will play 2 games against other players (as F.N.U. and Phantom League) on Beotorum planet. The winner of each Pool will proceed to the following stage. Additionally, 6 players, who’ll take the second place in their pools, will also proceed to the following stage basing on the best records (number of tournament's victories, sum of turns in lost battles minus sum of turns in won battles).
b. The players will be divided in 5 pools (6 players in each pool). The round-robin tourney will take place within each Pool: every player will play 2 games against other players (as F.N.U. and Phantom League) on Twin Islands planet. The winner of each Pool will proceed to the following stage. The second-place winner will take part in the Consolation Final.

I've already lost 4 games and I didn't even get a chance to disclose!

Seems to be a slight technical problem with the games.

It says I surrenderred in the finished games list. I didn't do that.

Is there any update on when the games will be fixed?

Due to some regrettable concatenation of circumstances recently generated Tournament games were somewhat defective. We decided to generate brand new Tournament battles (95% current Tournament games still have just 1-2 turns). All game options and opponents remain the same. New Secret Allies distribution in each game will be generated.

Old battles have been destroyed. This will not affect your Glicko points.

If old, destroyed battles do not disappear from your list automatically just select them in the games list and click 'Repair' button.

We are sorry for the inconveniences. Please let us know if something goes wrong with the battles.

Yours sincerely,

Wargaming.Net Team
