Can I suggest that the "GROUPS" score board - which now has the win / loss/ draw statistics - should also have the turns ratio - ie Turns in Games Won minus the Turns in Games Lost.

In the second round - I think that the competition will be a bit closer and these might come in handy.. You never know - if the scores are tied - the last player may have to win his last games by a certain turn to make it through to the finals.... very exciting.

How are the "top 5" worked out....

I sorted on all the players in the competition based on score - all the people with 30 points went to the top... I was ranked No.4. Was this based on the number of turns it took me to win every game? Is that how the ranking is worked out.....

The real question is - am I in the top 5?

OR

Is it based on the ranking under the skill based system? (I am nowhere near the top 5 in that).

Excuse me, the was mistake in translation. Of course, I meant skill-based rating system (Glicko).

When I've posted my message Tywer had too many unfinished games.
I think 24 points is enough to continue play in the next round (at least from the second place).

Sorry about delay. Because of problem with Internet-connection and electric light I couldn't start Round 2 last night.

18pts for second place in the 5 person pool is equal to 24pts in a six person pool. You don't seem to have given fair treatment to the second places from smaller pools with this rule change. Something to consider for the next tournament.

They won 6 battles from the 8 = 75% of games, players who have got 24 points won 8 battles from 10 = 80%. Players in group with 5 participants had chance if they finish at least one more game as a draw.

So in a 6 player pool you can lose both games to the top player and get through. In a 5 player pool you may lose only one. That's a much harder target IMO. Most first round pools had one dominant player who won all games.

I don't think it will have much effect on the outcome, but I would have preferred to see second place players from all pools put forward based on average number of turns to win and lose. :-?

Anyway, good luck with round 2 everybody. :D

If all players from the second place could continue play in the second round, then players in the pools with 6 players had less chances to continue, than players in the pools with 5 players.

In the any case, I don't think, that such format will be used in the future official tournaments.

Some more feedback....

1. I am finding it hard to keep up with the games - I am trying to play 10 games at once- all on a seriously tight deadline - agains players like Pitotr and Tywer.... Very hard to beat them at the best of times - but under the extra pressure of time.... much harder. I suppose they are under the same time so it should even out. (THen again - I have to work full time and have a wife to keep happy).

2. I think that the way the pools were divided seems uneven and not transparent. It would be better to know from the start what will happen. I know this is just trial - so this is just constructive feedback.

I think that the tournament should be open to a set number of people - that way there are even pools. Then - the top players in each pool are ranked (using the turns system) and placed in the second round pools in the order they finished with the ranking system OR - that way it matters how FAST you beat your opponent. - even in the first rounds

Then the top 5 people are plance in 5 pools - then the second 5 people are placed in 5 pools IN REVERSE ORDER - that way the person who finished first is rewarded by having to play the person who finished 10th and so on (5th plays 6th which is also fair).

This is just my view of knowing what is going to happen even before the tournament starts - so that every game and every turn matters.

Then - if you end up in a hard second round -its your own fault for not doing better in the tournement - (and nothing to do with outside rankings).

hello guys, i withdraw from tournament. i played as fast as possible but from now on i can't make anymore turns in my pool (D). i'm not satisfied with this situation because it looks like i would have been first or at least second in my pool.

this wasn't planned and i thought i could play during my vacation but it's not possible because my brother has some problems with internet connection.

nevertheless have a great time and we will see us again in the next tournament.

One more feedback point

If its a tie for 2nd - and it goes to a countback - then i think a one on one countback is not as fair as an all inclusive countback (probably because I will lose the countback :)

The reason I say this is because if you get one bad layout and one even layout - then you are basically screwed.

BUT

If it was based on all games - then at least the law of averages would even out your chances - and it depends on how well you play ALL of you games to progess to the next stage

Just my thoughts - learned from experience

2 games in this pool are finished, but one of opponents didn't load turn in the battle where other player press "surrender".
