in the old man points won and lost were based on a simple formular based on the number of turns completed. For a large map i think it went something like 40 % for 1 to 4 turns 60% for 5 turns and 100% after 6 turns. The reasoning behind this was 2 fold. First, sometimes a person gets a really bad SA layout that made the game unwinable (if playing any good opponent). If this happens, you were given a chance to reconize the hopelessness of the situation and minamize your loss by ending the game quickly. 2nd, sometimes people start many games but only play 1 or 2 turns, in these cases why should a victory that is just "given" count as much as one that is hard fought and actually won. Personally, i thought both ideas had a great deal of merit and were for the benifit of the game. I could be wrong, but i thought this same type of scoring had carried over into the MAN2 universe.
