Will the Release Version of MAN2 be faster to access than the Beta Version?
MAN1 has been very quick to load: one thing I really like about it.
Getting to the game-play is far more valuable to me than anything else which could be causing the delay in accessing gameplay.
Time is valuable and in the pc-world, seconds make lots of difference.
Whole bunches of seconds really make me ask "Why?"

Hello,

Actually, I personally answered Rextrent by e-mail.

In short, we have greatly optimized data exchange between game client and server so far. At the moment we're working on patch that will optimize load speed and let players instantly access game server under last active profile.

We also have ideas how to optimize AI thinking phase when you play with online AI opponents (Kate and Emily).

Sincerely,
Nick.

Last active profile? That sucks since my brother and I both play on different profiles once a day.[/quote]

Then you will be able to access just like now having main menu loaded first.

Now we can post the more detailed update on the matter:

Let’s start with fact that MAN1 was released more then 2 years ago using older game engine. Since that we have improved game’s graphic engine in Domination and MAN2 which made planets look nicer but they load longer now (this is a natural drawback). Many games available on market today take much longer to load upon their launch.

We’ve been experimenting a lot with optimization during last couple of weeks and the upcoming patch we bring SOME increase in speed, but it won’t be significant. Also, like I described above the patch will let you access instantly Internet Play mode under the last active profile

However, you can make game’s load time about 2 times less right now! (and this change will have the same effect even on later patched versions)

Just make sure to turn off “Show background animation in menu” from Options->Gameplay Settings. You will see the real difference!

The upcoming patch is going to be really great and we’re sure you will love it :)

Similar suggestions:

Along with the optimization to AI, I'd like the 'skip' button to appear as soon as the AI start moving. As it is now, I can wait until the first unit is deployed/moved/etc, exit to main menu, immediately enter that same game, and have the option to watch or skip AI movement. On medium+ maps, this is often my preferred game play method, so as to keep things moving. AI movement is a real bummer for me, especially in the endgame.

Secondly, I'd like an option to 'exit to windows' from the main menu. I can do this from within a game, but once I leave that game, I have to visit the profile menu before I can leave.

These 2 additions would increase my gaming experience and enjoyment.

Open settings.ini file located in the folder save\Brewer, find [misc] section in the file and write:
PlayAllAITurn = 1

I can't get this to work after patch .215. The setting is in the .ini file but I am unable to skip the computers move.

Personally, I would like to see an option to allow the AI more time to think, rather like Galactic Civilisations 2, or Birth of America do.
