The game we are making are for gamers, i. e. for all of you .

What music would you like to hear? Your opinions would be interesting to know.

Marches, definitely marches. Drums, snare rolls, horns, cadences, etc. Command and Conquer had some of that kinda stuff.
It would be a bit expensive, I imagine, to buy the rights to use songs by big-name bands, but you could probably buy a nice collection of tunes from small bands. ATV Off-Road Fury for the PS2 has one of the best soundtracks ever. But they even have Alice in Chains on it...
I would let you use the songs from the band I'm in, but we haven't recorded a demo yet, lol...

I loved the music of ultima underworld. Well its not only the way it sounds. What I love is the one music theme that gets diffrent interpetations depending on the game situation. So if it stands bad it turns to a grave march style. If it gets into battle (your own attack phase) it gets victorios and if it comes to show some taker skills it gets to the style used by the Psycho movie  You know lots of aggressiv strings...

So use modern classic style or pleased techno. And create a big music theme or more of em. And play with the interpretation. Well thats my advice of cause *g.

I really like the music of the game "Heroes 4", but i dont think that will fit in the game, and i'm sure that it's expensivem but its a good music (very good).
If you'll find a special music it will really add to the game, especily (sorry about my english...) because the game is a little slow...
I dont know what kind of music will be good for the game, so i cant tell you anything about that... but i'm sure you need war music.

Well I would say some alternative style music would be best. As long as you make it in a mp3 style format why not let people mod there own music into it.

I just hate playing games with music I dont like. The option to change the music to whateve I do like is allways a big plus to a game. Otherwise I normaly play with sound turned off and the radio playing in the background.

in many of the games I play I just let winamp play on the background, because the music sometimes just stops in games, or the music isn't any good

also, music from Massive Attack seems appropriate for the game, mostly namewise, but I think "I against I" is also very good for the game

I'd like to continue the discussion. The music is being composed now and all opinions are valuable.

What's better: orchestral music or electronic, in trance, house or other style?

Should it be as a background or it has to be catchy, individual, dynamic?
