I think that its fair to miss one round - people do have to go on holidays and stuff. But you can;t miss 2 in a row....

If you want to miss only 1 round (and not pull out) then you will be the loser of that round (zero wins) and be demoted. (but no games are created so not loss of skill points). That way - only 1 other player will be demoted.

If 2 people want to miss 1 round - then they both lose that round - not other player get demoted

If 3 players want to miss one round -then the 2 playrs with the least points in the tournament will be demoted because they will be judged to be lower that the other player (based on the count back system - no wins, no turn - then it goes on points).

IF ANY player pulls outof the tournament - then they will be demoted FIRST.

So if 1 player want to pull out for 1 week and 2 players want to pull out forever - then the player who pulls out for 1 week will NOT be demoted.

If 3 player pull pull out FOREVER, then 3 players must be promoted to make up the numbers in the higher ranks. THAT Is the only way to get more that 2 players demoted / promoted.

SO the big question is should the last players in division 1 (snakedad and Optis) keep their position or be demoted.

I think that if you come last or second last - then you should get demoted. Considering that snakedad did not even finish a game I am not sure if he even wants to keep playing.

As for Optis, not sure. With Snakedad, Morn and Storm pulling out - should he stay? Plus I probably can't give a non biased opinions because I can benefit from this decision.

BUT here is my take on it......
1. The rules say the bottom 2 will be demoted. (Rules is Rules)
2. Position 8 in pool 1 only gets 4 points - and there are 5 players in division 2 with more points in the tournament - so I would say the top division should made up of players with the most points
be the players who stayed in the comp.

BUT - Players like me (who only got 5th) probably don't deserve a free ride into the top division either....

SO I am happy with either decision.

With 3 player pulling out of 1st division (Morn, Storm and Snakedad) the top 3 in division 2 should move up. If you also move the 8th place (Optis) down - as per the rules - then 4th place (Cujo/Pitor tied for 3rd and 4th) - in division 2 should also move up to keep the number at 9.

Where it gets really hard is that Cujo will also pull out of division 2.... so that leaves at least 4 (or 5) player leaving the division - plus the botton 2 as well.... It just will just get worse down the lower divisions.

Sort it out however you think is best Tiger, its your tournament. I will be happy to be promoted but have I really earnt it. - ?????... Probably not Has Optis earnt the right to stay in 1st division??? Probably not ... (sorry optis - no offence).

If its a choice between me or him - then I will leave it up to the umpire to make the final call and will not complain either way. Either of us will be very lucky to be in first division and with luck will give the front runners a good run for their money :)

Changed my mind - Optis should probably stay in the top division if 3 other players are pulling out.....

Too much of a free ride for me..... I want to earn 1st division

(and actually win a game or 2 :)

Post subject:  please remove from the tournament entirely

I am no longer using windows computers as of today. And the only thing I really can't do on a Mac is play MA2.

I really wish I could keep playing. I tried Crossover, but that didn't work.

Email me if a Mac or web version of Massive Assault. I'll even buy a new copy if that happens.

I noticed that in the newest round, there were two divisions 16...just a typo.

Also, could someone explain all the numbers in regards to the record?

( 19.0.0.-61 / 3853)

- This would be 19 points (6 wins = 18 points + 1 draw = 1 point), but what are the "0" and the -.61? The 3853 would be the rank on server I believe.

( 15.3.-18.-9 / 3667)

- This one has even more numbers to it, first number is for the 5 wins again...but then essentially 3 other numbers and have no idea what they mean.

Below is mine:
( 27.0.0.-57 / 1962)

- Again, 9 wins gives the 27 points...and 1962 is my rank...but the -57 and the zeros I just can not figure out.

Thanks!

It was small bug on the page. Now you could see Division 16 just once :)

It's full list of factors, which ones could change final position of
players at the end of round.
You can read details on the page with rules:
http://massiveassaultnetwork.com/man2/t ... urnament=9
The rule #12:
If two or more players have the same score, the winner will be defined based on following factors (listed in priority order):
a. Result of battles for equal-score players.
b. Difference: (Sum of turns in lost battles minus sum of turns in won battles between players, who have equal score).
c. Difference: (Sum of turns in lost battles minus sum of turns in all won battles).
d. Glicko rating of players.

I know I've seen the planet rotation before, but can't seem to locate it now, can someone put that up in this thread? Also if the next planet after v6 is a new planet, when can we download it?, and can it be added to the list of planets for the AI so I can play it before v6 is completed in the tournament? Cheers!

Ok I finally found the planets for the tournament, so is the planet after v6 going to be the new planet? if so will we have to wait to play it until the rotation?
Possible planets:
· Emerald (January) - preliminary round
· Antarcticus (February)
· V6 (March)
· New planet (April)
· Crateus (May)
· Treasure Island (June)
· San Fernando (July)
· New planet (August)
· New planet (September)
· Lion’s Eye (October)
· Anubis (November - December) - final round

As far as I know all the new maps are of the Medium size.

Yes, many players really don't have the leisure to play the required games.
In this case, they really cannot be considered to be in the tournament competition.
This tournament is only a part of MAN2. There will likely be another and players who cannot commit to the tournament can just play.
Allowing someone to pop in and out of a tournament doesn't seem kosher.
Maybe you can buy a piece of gum with that 8)

Could someone clarify the rules for what happes when 3 players are first equal on points and have 1 win and 1 loss in their games against each other.

Could be relevant for some people, you just never know!

Example:

A wins B in 12 turns
B wins C in 5 turns
C wins A in 20 turns

All have 6 wins in total.

B wins as difference lost turns - won turns = 7 (A = 8, C = 15)

All other battles do not matter unless above gives equal score.

Does anyone agree?

No, in your example player C has 5 - 20 = -15, so the winner is player A (8), the second place - player B (7) and the third place - player C (-15).
