Le_Roy - What made you so cranky....
I play my turns every night just about.

And I think there is a bit of an misuderstanding....
I suggested a simple chess clock with a 48 hour freeze..... not 14 days per turn.
I just want 2 days to do my turn and a little backup time in case I go away for a weekend.
I thought that was reasonable.

Also - it was not me (West player) that was taking all the time in my match - it was Bambr (East) and thats because he was busy - looks like some players in Russia also have a life.

I have a life -- and a wife -- and if I played 4 games on a chess clock with 18 hour freeze, I would have to play everynight - and then I would have an a great gaming life- but also an ex-wife.

Seriously - my wife is very reasonable but she will not put up with me playing 2-3 hours every night.

First, let me say that while i wanted a 14 day turn limit I only wanted it for emergency use in case something came up where i could not play for awhile. Winning or losing, I had no intention of taking 14 days between turns in a tournament game since this would drag the game out far beyond what is reasonable, so I agree with Le_Roy on this point. But let us look at other points, first this east/west idea did generate a lot of interest with western players, I for one, normally do not play tournaments and I joined, Ravermister, rocklizard and Morton_Hq all were simi retired and joined in. Second, the east has more active players because this game is much more popular in that area of the world--kind of like chess (which also has a very poor following in the west).
Third, while I have joked about it I don't, and I believe most of the other west players don't, think the east is cheating--why would they? Most would not need any sort of unfair advantage because they are good enough to win without it. But, since the east created this game, controls the games, moderates the games, and has the developers that can look into any game to fix problems, perhaps it would be good to explain just how it is also not possible to gain first hand knowledge of any game that interests them. Forth, The MAN community is a very diverse group of people and we all have our reasons for playing. Some of us really do not have a lot of interest in tournament play. I, for one, am at a place in my life where I can not handle much more stress and tournament games create a LOT of stress for me because I hate to lose. While I am willing to have a few high level games going, I also like to play a few at a not so high level just to relax. Lastly, as far as I know, only one player has commented in this forum about how things would be different if some other players had played and he is a pretty excitable young new father that gets pretty passionate about things

I've surrender in one game and finished by timelimit (20 days after last turn in the battle with my advantage).
