another idea for the map is this..
There are about a 10 system with about 3 planets in each system, the clans are given planets randomly spread across the systems so quite often u'll find urself sharing systems with someone. Each planet produces a random ammount of cash each day/week. The cash can either be stored on the planet, transfered to another friendly planet(with a % lost in the transfere, or used to bribe officials on an enemy planet (leading to an invasion).
It'll cost more to bribe officials in a planet taht's far away from the planet sending the money.
Then when a fight begins the ammount of cash the defender has on the planet is compared to the ammount the attack has sent to the planet. Then the number of games to be played and the number of games each side has to win to win are worked out.
eg say the defender has $20,000 (for eaxmple) and the attacker sends $20,000 from 2 of his planets. We'll assume the planets are in the same system adn that there's no cash loss for attacking in same system. so the attacker has a 2:1 advantage. so we decide that 2 fights are too be played with the attacker needing to win 1 of them to win due to their huge cash ammount..
We'll have some kind of forumla to work out umber of battles to be played etc. Maybe for every $30,000 a new battle is made, or something.
