 Post subject: Hotseat?

Hi

How does the hotseat system work with respect to Secret Allies. Surely if you both at the machine your enemy can see your SA ?

Thanks,

The same way as in HMM series:
When it's your turn - your SA are displayed. When it's your opponents turn - his SA are displayed.

Never played the HMM Series. So you saying you have to make sure your hot seat buddy leaves the room for each turn ?

If both opponents know their counterpart`s allies game loses most of its attractivity...so asking to leave the room is a good idea;)
BUT,I actually want to see a proper LAN patch. We plan to gather computers in one house in march with friends where nost likely will not be i-net access and playing hot-seat in that conditins(6 PC`s in a room with even more people) seems masochistic.

It might not be too bad... You'll have to break free of all your traditional LAN ideas though. It would be a little better with i-net access, but here goes:

Set up a hotseat game on each of the computers. Each person should have a game going on two computers (6 computers, 6 people, 2 people per game). Whenever you are done with your turn, you let your opponent know.

If you all take your turns at the same rate, you will always have a turn to play. Have a snack table set up to visit whenever you have a moment, talk some smack, and mock your friends, and you'll have a grand old time. Not a traditional LAN, but a fun one nonetheless.

It would be better with I-net access, because you could have two games going on on your computer, and you wouldn't have to leave your seat, more of a traditional approach. Being in the same room, everone will be able to do their turns quick, so you'll always have a turn to play.

Would have ended up happening in a normal LAN, might as well ;)

At least its not Chess, where people are tossing the board with all its pieces everwhere... Oh wait, you aren't playing on your computer anymore. There might be some moniters flying around. Keyboard fight!

They will have to leave the room for your whole turn, cause there are flags on your secret allies capitals throuhout your whole turn.

With this LAN idea, its not a problem. You'll be on another person's computer doing a different turn while your opponent is doing his turn on your computer. Everyone will have something to do the whole time, so you won't have to worry about them seeing your secret allies any more than you would if there was a standard LAN mode.

Another point, with a traditional LAN, you wouldn't have anything to do while your opponent is doing his turn. That could be annoying

i play hotseat alot but we not leave room each turn just one time for inicial deployment...first because we lazy :D and second because we not care so much about secrecy...we prefer to win by superiority of tactical control not by some secret surprize..
