DS They may be victims of the "Frozen Game" bug that seems to be effecting several players. I had 3 games that just froze up on me, couldn't do a thing. I had the admins delete them. Might want to contact the other players and see if this is the problem.

First off, there already is a per-turn time limit, which is set to 1, 3, 7, or 14 days by the challenger when he or she issues the challenge. If you want to make sure that your opponents take their turns quickly, get games with quicker time limits. Additionally, it seems to me that simply using the Surrender button with the second account would be much faster than waiting for timeout, especially since I have not noticed any points gain from the games that I have won by timeout.

There are other reasons than fear for not taking turns for a while. I myself am currently at home for the weekend, and thus do not have access to my regular computer until I go back to college on Sunday evening. Other people may be sick or busy or simply swamped under too many games to get to you very often.

One of the things about the game is that different people move at different rates. Some people may only be able to get online once or twice a week, while others never seem to sleep. If you feel that multiplayer is too slow, send some more challenges! For example, I try to keep about 20-25 games going at once, but I know that some people have many MANY more than that. Frankly a mere 3 games just is not going to go very quickly unless you're under some relatively rare circumstances.

There should definately be penalties for letting the time limit lapse.

There is a penalty: You get 0 points. In any non-timed-out game you will get points even if you surrender or lose horribly.

You get the points as if you normally won this game.

That is not true, I have only recived points from 2 of all games that timed out.. For example vs Admiral Andrew, I played 19 turns against him and was winning without doubt.. But he chickened out, and didn't respond for 19 days, so I hit the finnish button and didn't recive a single point..

I agree. Whether or not I get points seems to be very hit and miss.

At first I thought it was something like if they abandoned in the first couple turns I would not get points - but at least once I did. <shrug>

The only time it's given me points is when it gave me a loss for some reason.
