..like any other strategy game you can think of?

I purchased MA two weeks ago, played for dozens of hours with hard earned success on first 5 scenarios only [achieved by dumb luck & stubborness only]

Until I can figure out MA , can anyone recommend another TBS or RTS games that are as near challenging as MA?

[to date, Ive played Combat Mission [1&2], Disciples series [all], W3,
C&C series, Civ3].

Thanks for suggestions.

PS: Anyone have a replay of MA scenario Troubled Flanks? I'm stuck on this one, confused really, as I am notified of defeat [8 times so far], though I have control of my capitol, 10 ground units & 2 defense turrets left....strange. Why should I loose if I have my capital & a sizeable force left to fight with?

Try playing some World Wars against the AI and then go back to the scenarios. Odds are you'll learn something and it will seem a whole lot easier.

Chess has been mentioned somewhere.

Also, Laser Squad Nemesis, a turn-based tactical squad wargame with random elements, has some similarities: You can spend almost as much time as you want for each turn and you have to out-think and out-maneuver your opponent to win (no resource managment at all).

Can't find any mention of it on the 'net. Are you sure that's the name? And that it was for NES?

There is a remake of the game for PSX. It is called Nectaris: Military Madness. Same game.. changed title a little bit though.
