The Battle of Cannae

Here you can see classical military maneuver known as "Cannae" (after the famous victory by Hannibal). The F.N.U. forces are trying to repel massive invasion into their native country. The Phantom League commander concentrates his main forces in the center and tries to break the F.N.U. defense with his powerful Ostriches (large walking machines armed with rockets and zip-guns) - and he really is about to make it!

Having considered the situation wisely the F.N.U. general withdrew the central part of his line (moslty of the LAV’s and Mortars) and concentrated his heavy artillery (Rocket Launcher battery seen in the left part of the screen) and fast moving Tanks on his flanks. With some persistence and a good deal of luck this maneuver will work as smoothly as in 216 B.C. when Hannibal crushed much bigger Roman army at the battle of Cannae.
