Carrier-centric Defense

The war has reached its apex. Half a dozen of bloody battles all over the world resulted in the current
"partition" of the planet: Phantom League controls about 60% of the countries and has an impressive
battle fleet in the central Channel. F.N.U. is holding the South-Western corner.
Naturally, Phantom League’s territorial superiority allowed to gather greater forces for the final assault.
And it’s an impressive offensive - two large ground battle groups are pressing along the Channel’s shores,
and the fleet is making its way through the narrowest part of the Channel.
What can F.N.U. put on the table? Their ground forces on the right and the left continents are much weaker
then the advancing enemy armies. The key point of F.N.U.’s defense is the pair of Carriers. They are covered
by a squadron of Destroyers. Bombers from the Carriers can reach for both left and right shores, supporting
the ground defense, and they can also cover that narrow part of the Channel right in front of the Destroyers.
Unluckily for the Phantom League’s fleet, it stretched during its long march from the North-East, and now their
ships are arriving into the battle in smaller groups, which are not a real threat to the F.N.U.’s Destroyers
with air support.
The fact that the Carriers’ Bombers have a very long range and can cover all three theatres - they can provide
really effective fire support exactly in those places, where it is vitally needed, finishing the damaged enemy
units. Plus, the Carriers don’t suffer from any sort of fight-back, when covered.
Thus Phantom League must hurry up and concentrate on breaking through the Destroyer screen and destroy the
Carriers or at least, push them back.
