Surprising Outflanking

The battle for this large country has been bitter and bloody. Loosing half of their army the F.N.U. forces (metallic units) have almost completed the conquest cornering the remnants of the League’s Bio-T regiments (the upper left part of the screen). They are about to finish remaining Bio-T’s. But unexpectedly the League discloses its Secret Ally, immediately engaging the F.N.U.’s right flank. Completely outflanked and already engaged from the rear (see those long Bio-T’s track traces on the ground) the invaders have found themselves in a very difficult situation - they can neither withdraw nor break through the enemy ranks. As you can see, they are losing the rear-rank Launchers and soon the Mortars and Heavy Bots will be engaged from behind - the total annihilation will happen in just a couple of turns.

This example clearly illustrates how keeping your Secret Ally undisclosed for a long time can dramatically help. If the Phantom League’s general were not patient enough and disclosed that country when the battle for the country started, the F.N.U. wouldn’t carry such heavy losses and most probably would hold their advance earlier - regrouping to cover their right flank properly or they could just wait for the additional reinforcements - in any case, the F.N.U. contingent would not be caught by surprise and would do something to survive.
