Frontal Airbase

Nothing compares with a frontline's city having 3 Bombers.
The F.N.U. army (metallic units) has taken position in the woods: the LAV’s were placed in the first
line and two batteries of Rocket Launchers behind them. One LAV has been placed
ahead of the line serving as the city's garrison. The Bombers can operate from
the city until the enemy occupies it. But as soon as there is a friendly
unit in the city (no matter how damaged it is), the enemy cannot occupy the city and destroy
the aviation. In the current situation the F.N.U. will be holding the city until it has
at least one ground unit remaining: the destroyed garrisons are immediately replaced by the
LAV’s from the line.
The Phantom League’s forces are conducting relatively massive assault on the F.N.U.
positions, but they are suffering heavy losses - in many respects due to the Bombers and
Rocket Launchers placed in the woods. Plus, the Bombers can easily destroy the Land
Transports at a very long distance, thus the League’s UPS’s (transports) should conduct extra
maneuvering in order to avoid the Bombers.
The League obviously has greater numbers, but the Neutral country on their right
does not allow to outflank the F.N.U.’s defensive line. If the League keeps boldly storming
that position, its forces would most probably be completely eliminated here. It has two options:
- either withdraw (but the Bombers will keep pouring the retreating troops with deadly bombs)
- or try using their UPS for an unexpected outflanking move through the Neutral territory.
Of course, they will have to face the Guerrillas, but if carefully crafted (and with
good deal of luck) this maneuver may end in immediate destruction of the F.N.U.’s Rocket launchers. Well,
only experienced players can dare to perform such risky maneuvers.
